Friday's blog is coming late because the internet wasn't being cooperative. Yesterday Mark and I headed up to Gainesville to golf one last time on the Ironwood course. The weather was perfect, and it appears that every single person living in the area decided they wanted to enjoy the day the same way.
Even though we were ready to give up after 10 holes because of the extremely slow play, we kept going because we paid $60 to play. We managed to get in 14 holes before our patience wore out. After 4 1/2 hours we couldn't take any more. The golf courses in the area have marshals on the course but instead of helping to keep play moving they mostly check the bathrooms and trash cans. Fast play doesn't exist here on Friday thru Sunday. Mark will try again on Tuesday with Joe and several other guys in the park. After that round the next golf will be much farther north.
We were going to play bingo on our last Friday here but we ran a little late so the day ended outside our house talking with Pam and Dennis.
