We anxiously awaited the arrival of Pam and Dennis. They arrived around 2:00pm. They had survived the tornadoes in Atlanta last night (as did Michael who is there for three weeks on business. He was within a mile of the downtown area.) A computer glitch put Pam and Dennis on an already occupied spot, so after 20 minutes, a new spot, much closer to ours, was found. We left them to set up and we headed to the pool for a while. 85 degrees, but still windy. A bit dicey getting out.
We delivered the new tacky butterfly whirly-gigs (that we picked up at the Super Flea Market several weeks ago) to Pam's new campsite - sort of a "welcome to the world of RVing" gift. I don't think they really saw the humor, but for now, they are still upright and in the ground.
We had already bought tickets for tonight's special entertainment in the park - the Street-Lites who perform 50s, 60s, and Motown. The four of us loaded up the cooler and snacks, and found a table in the front of the room which allowed us to view all the dancers. The band was excellent - well worth the high price of $10/ticket. One of the singers is a former member of the 70's group the Grass Roots. (Everybody wants to be in Florida!) When we looked around the room nearly everyone was singing along, this was truly the music of our lives.
Note the Kirk Douglas look-alike, who happened to be an excellent dancer.
