Season Four Comes To An End

It's been very busy since we got back home. I don't even remember when we arrived - sometime last week. The campground we staying in near Robertsdale, AL was severely lacking in everything. It's a new park with sand for roads, and sand for the RV spot. The bathrooms were sparkling. Not a place we would go back to. The Sam's Town RV park in Tunica was quite full of people just like us - heading back home. The buffets were delicious.

The drive across Arkansas was not fun at all. I-40 is all torn up with LARGE potholes and it rained cats and dogs for a major portion of the drive on the way to Little Rock. The portion on 65 north from Conway, Arkasas to my folks' house on Table Rock Lake was horrendous, and one we most likely will never travel again. The 140 mile trip took four hours to complete.

Our winter was great and we already miss our friends, many who have already returned home themselves. The weather was certainly better than St. Louis, but not as nice as we had it last year in Florida; of course, we can't control the weather.

We only drove 3418 miles driven while wintering in FL; this does not include the trip to get there, or to get back home. Since the weather was quite a bit cooler, we played golf only 16 times. Of course, sore feet and bad backs kept us from playing a few more times.

Since we're arrived back home we got to have dinner with Michael on one night; my parents the next night, and then with Dennis and Ann the next. Then on Saturday we had the memorial service for Mark's uncle. It was a sad occasion but as always, it's good to see all of the family.

Yesterday we made the 8 hour round trip to Table Rock Lake where our 5th wheel is sitting. The low temperatures for 3 nights was forecast as 19. We didn't winterize when we brought it in. Next time we will.

This morning it was snowing! Need I say more.

We're signing off until our next trip.
