It Was All In the Wash

Yesterday we drove back down to The Villages area to meet John and Donna for what is probably the last time we see them while they are in Florida. We believe they are leaving to go back home later in the week. John had made us a tee time at a course none of us had played. We were supposed to tee off at 1:45, but luckily they were only about 8 minutes behind schedule. Normally this wouldn't have been a problem, but it gets quite dark here at 6:15pm. The two groups in front of us were extremely slow; they finally picked up the pace at about 5:55pm. It was speed golfing for the last two holes. By the time we got to the last hole, we couldn't see our shots. The course was beautiful and we hope to play again down there this winter - just not on a Sunday afternoon. We were forewarned about snakes on four of the holes. Fortunately we didn't see any. That is not the kind of wildlife I like to see.

Mark kept calling back home to see how Kurt Warner's team (Phoenix Cardinals) was doing. Since he was a fan favorite when he was with the Rams, we are pulling for Phoenix to win the SuperBowl in a couple of weeks. After dinner at a Mexican restaurant, we said our goodbyes to John and Donna and headed back up Hwy 441 to get to our RV park. We missed the Talent Night that was in the park last night - we didn't get back until after 9:00p. Maybe we make next month's talent night. And no, we won't be participating; just spectators.

Mark and a few of the guys went golfing today. It was very cloudy and windy, but they had fun anyway. Afterwards Joe and Marilyn convinced us to go to the pizza restaurant we had been to on Saturday. This time I had a salad. Of course - we ate at 4:30. I suspect we'll be hungry in a hour or two.

Tonight I did an uneventful three loads of laundry. No one to talk to get restaurant recommendations from. The hanging rod in the laundry room is getting pretty crowded with clothes left in the washers and/or dryers. Tonight it held four pair of men's colored briefs and a hanky. Gee - I wonder who did that laundry!
