Retired But Still Working (Sort Of)

This has been our first winter home in the past seven years.  We're very happy that it was an almost perfect winter, weather-wise.  I think the lows only got below freezing 2 days.  We won't be pressing our luck again next year.

In November and December, we worked for See's Candies in the Galleria.  This was our first adventure into retail sales and found out we really did enjoy it for the seven weeks.  We're looking forward to working this coming season again for Jim and Linda.

We managed to golf in January, February, and March and spent a lot of time cleaning out the house.  All but one closet has been cleaned out.  We used our See's earnings to buy lots of new furniture for the house.  It was time!

The best part of our winter was spending lots of time with our grandson, Matthew.

This week we started our new workamping gig at Big Creek RV Park in Annapolis, MO.  We wanted to be close to home so we could still see our families and cut our own grass since Dennis relocated to Tulsa in February.  We met the couple that owns the park at the RV Show in February and talked up our workamping skills.  They called in February and asked if we could come for a visit.  We immediately fell in love with them and the park.

Tuesday morning we loaded up the car and truck and drove the short 105 mile trip to start our summer camping.  While we haven't actually started working yet (probably tomorrow), we've had lots of time to explore.

Big Creek runs behind the park and there are a couple of walking trails that go alongside it.  Butch loves walking down there.

The bad thing is, I've already pulled a couple of ticks off him.  That's the downside of a fabulous winter, no bugs froze!

Today we had to go shopping in Piedmont since we forgot a few items when we stocked the trailer.  The Walmart is a very old, very small store, but they had most of what we wanted.  I really need fresh fruit, but haven't found any yet.

Hopefully Patty (the owner) will have something for us to do tomorrow.

I don't think we could stay there with that creek running behind the park....you know how lucky we are with water! Have fun!
