While having nothing planned for the summer, Mark went and got hired at Home Depot. It probably would have been a good gig, except they put him in lawn and garden. He only lasted a few weeks.
I would buy grass seed and fertilizer from this guy!
We had planned to go out West with Pam and Dennis for at least a month, but family health issues kept us here. It was nice having Pam and Dennis here for a month, but they eventually headed out without us. We just decided to take a long trip in the fall instead.
Hail piled up on the sidewalk in early April
My car ended up having $3700 worth of hail damage.
Our best news ever this year - Dennis and Ann announced on Easter that they were moving back to St. Louis! We are so excited to have them back. They bought a house just a couple miles from Michael and Angela.
We celebrated Mom and Dad's 61st wedding anniversary with a great meal at Surf and Sirloin in early May.
We went out one day looking for a new golf bag for Mark, we came back with a new 70" TV. We were able to sell all the old equipment to help defray the cost of the new TV, stand, and sound bar.
After having a roofing company come out and check on the roof from the storm that got my car, we also got a new roof. Thank you State Farm!
A back-breaking project to replace the old railroad timbers with the new stones. I never want to do that work ever again, but we sure do like it.
I was very fortunate to get to see the Cardinals play the Yankees this spring with my sister-in-law from Chicago, along with her daughter and her boyfriend. Check that off the bucket list. Great seats two rows from the field. Unfortunately the Cards lost big, but still had a great time.
We did get in a four-day camping trip to check out all the repairs we had made on the RV. We found this cute little park about an hour from home. The pool and weather were great! 70 degrees in July just doesn't happen all that often.
How could we not go see this while camping in Cuba, MO?
Our final project this summer - a new surface for the porch and sidewalk.
The best part of being home for the summer:
Henry ready to go swimming.
Me and my best buds.
Matthew enjoying the road equipment on the street by us.
Grandpa with his little buddies.
Our little guy turned three yesterday.
We're off on our late summer trip on Tuesday. Updates to follow.
