Winding Down

Monday was "spring fling" in the park.  Erik and Tania provided hotdogs, chips, margaritas, and beer to the winter folks.  In addition, there was a shuffleboard tournament which we signed up for.  Surprisingly enough, we won our first match.  Since the only time we have ever played shuffleboard has been on a moving cruise ship, we really had no idea how good or bad we were.  We beat Gene and Linda (fellow workampers) by 30 points, which moved us into the second round - but that's as far as we got.  Pam and Dennis made it into the third round.  By losing, we got into the pool much quicker than everyone else.

By 1:00p we got several other couples into the pool for 3 hours of volleyball.  Our calves and backs were not happy the next day.  I think we got out around 5:00pm, quite waterlogged, and too tired to cook.  We ended up going to the Chinese Buffet with Pam and Dennis. (They are now hooked on it too.)

Wednesday we kayaked the Guadalupe again with Pam and Dennis and Roger and Monette.  It was a perfect day.

Getting ready to launch.

Mark and Pam

I woke up yesterday ready to clean.  I got the bathroom done, and immediately started cleaning windows and defrosting the fridge at the same time.  By noon I'd had enough so the four of us headed over to Mumphords for BBQ.

Last night was the final potluck for the season.  I had made a monster bowl of strawberries, angelfood cake, jello, and Cool Whip dessert.  Everything was delicious, and as always, we overate one more time.
