Hip Hip Jorge

Today began our two days of camp hosting in a row for the week and then we have the next eight days off. The day began with the monthly staff meeting. The best thing about these is the breakfast burritos and fresh fruit. The worst thing is the reminders of how we spent way too much time attending these meeting when we had real jobs. I think the big issue today was hand towels being taken from the bathrooms or maybe it was a reminder to handle the problems in the park without getting the owners involved. Who can remember these things? After getting a very late start to the day Diane went about her job of cleaning the office area and I headed out to park rv'ers, kill fire ants, fix picnic tables and cruise around in my golf cart making sure everyone is happy. (I think my job is the most difficult!)

The big item in our day was waiting to hear from our son Michael. He went to the doctor with his wife Angie today to find out the official answer to the big question....when is the BABY due? That's right, in case anyone who follows our blog doesn't know, we are expectant grandparents! Diane got the call this afternoon and Baby Patton has a strong heartbeat and is due August 22. We don't know any more than that right now but we do know that Baby Patton already has a nick name, Jorge (Hore-hay). Since Michael jokingly said that would be a good name for the birth announcement it has stuck and we're pretty certain that regardless whether they have a boy or girl we will use that handle a time or two.

The town is preparing for "the big freeze of 2011."  The weather guys have everyone in a frenzy because the temps are supposed to get down in the low 30s tonight and slightly colder tomorrow night.  Last week they had the town believing that we were going to get snow this week.  Needless to say, the grocery stores has been packed with people stockpiling milk, eggs, beans and tortillas.  We personally are good to go - no matter what the weather does.  Besides - there's always pizza delivery.

My name suggestions:

girl: Victoria Ivy Patton
boy: Victor Ian Patton

Why? So his/her initials will be VIP ... as Michael's is MVP, it's fitting!
