Saturday night was "Movie" night in the clubhouse. The owner, who lives upstairs with his family, brought down his big screen TV and showed The Proposal with Sandra Bullock. Popcorn and soda were provided, and a good time was had by all.
Sunday morning I headed out to find the Houston Chronicle, so we could catch up on worldly news. The local paper never covers national or world news, only Texas. While I was doing this, Mark was making his infamous braunschweiger ball for the Super Bowl party later that evening.
The ball was a huge hit. Who would think that so many people would like braunschweiger. Everyone brought a snack and an adult beverage to enjoy the big game. I, personally, only watch for the commercials. My favorites were the Betty White one, the human bridge to get the Budweiser truck across, and of course, the Clydesdales. After the game, several of us stayed to play some kind of trivia game show on the owner's PlayStation 3. I didn't do too well in these games, but Mark won one of them. Speaking of winning, we also won $25 on the third quarter score of the Super Bowl.
Mark and Mike had planned on golfing Monday morning while I was holding out to see what the weather was like. It had rained through the night, and even early in the morning, but the three of us decided to go at it anyway. It turned out to be a perfect day. The ground had hardened up from last week's rains so we didn't get too muddy.
